Paris Fashion Week is one of the most important events in the global fashion calendar. For models dreaming of walking the runways in Paris, the casting is the first and most decisive step.
As a fashion photographer who regularly shoots editorials and selects models for both Brazilian and international brands, I see firsthand what really makes a difference during castings. In this article, I share the three essential tips that can significantly increase your chances of being chosen — plus a real casting opportunity.
1. Keep it natural
Casting directors and fashion photographers want to see your real beauty. Arrive with a clean face (no makeup, or just a very light base) and natural hair.
Avoid heavy makeup, false lashes, or elaborate hairstyles. The goal of the casting is to evaluate your skin, features, and natural expression.
2. The “Model Off-Duty” look
Don’t dress extravagantly. The ideal outfit for a fashion casting is simple and body-conscious:
- Black skinny jeans
- Black or white tank top or fitted top
- Simple black heels
Fitted clothes allow the team to clearly see your proportions. This is one of the most observed points in Paris Fashion Week castings as well as in selections for fashion editorials and campaigns.
3. Know your measurements by heart
This is one of the most common mistakes among new models. You need to know these numbers without hesitation:
- Height
- Bust, waist, and hips (in centimeters)
- Shoe size
- Clothing sizes
Answering quickly and accurately shows professionalism — something essential in international castings and fashion photography selections.
Bonus: Attitude matters
Be punctual, polite, and show your personality. Castings are not only about perfect measurements — they look for presence and someone the team wants to work with.
We’re currently casting models for a Brazilian brand
If you’re looking for a real opportunity to walk and be photographed, we are currently holding a casting for an exclusive Brazilian brand that will participate in Fashion Week.
This is a chance to work with a professional team, be photographed by me, and have your images used in campaign and Fashion Week coverage.
